About the Social Tourism Division

Our Social Tourism Division focuses on supporting and building local communities through tourism
services. Through bringing volunteers into local communities and partnering with locally
managed accomodations and nonprofits we hope to provide a different perspective of
tourism to local communities and tourists. We also want to raise awareness of issues facing distinct communities and popultations through socially based activities and leadership development for groups and organizations while they travel.

S.O.C.I.A.L.

S.O.C.I.A.L. provides participants the opportunity to see and learn about
another side of a destination while making a difference in the local community.
There are dual beneficiaries from a program like S.O.C.I.A.L.; the local
communities that receive the service and the volunteers and tourists who visit the
communities to provide the service. These weekend and week long tours
include educational activities, service in local communities, training and
learning of local issues and time for reflection. S.O.C.I.A.L. is an acronym for
the goal of the program:

S - Social Change
O - Open Dialogue
C - Community Impact
I - Immersion Experiences
A - Awareness Building of Cultural,  Local and Global Issues
L - Learning and Leadership Development
