When I was seven months old, I boarded my first plane to visit my grandparents in the Virgin Islands. As the story goes, I’ve loved traveling from the very moment I “stepped foot” on that plane. Growing up, every summer my parents would pile us into our largest vehicle (in the early years a Chevy Impala and then eventually the minivan) for our annual road trip. I am blessed to have visited almost all fifty states during my childhood and have memories of sites from all over the country. It was always my biggest joy and challenge to help my family plan our summer trips, including where we would stop, what we would see and how to best get there. I was (and still am) the ultimate travel planner.

 
As an adult, I’ve used my career as a means to travel more often and see more places. All the miles earned and time spent away from home while on business afforded me the trip of a lifetime. While planning my amazing trip “around the world”, where friends and family joined me in each of my different destinations, I quickly realized how difficult it was to find good travel information and plan a trip with friends. Guidebooks often provided a limited perspective or might be outdated by the time you reached your location, it was impossible to make reservations and pay with multiple credit cards or to separate individual expenses, and travel/destination review sites seemed to be skewed towards bad reviews often written by snobby or unrealistic travelers. All of these obstacles planted a seed and upon my return to the states Escape Together was born!

While my first true love is travel, I am also a foodie, shopaholic, a bit of a hotel snob and a mojito lover. After traveling with so many other types of travelers, I have learned that, though not everyone travels like me, I can travel with almost anyone. I love to share my tips and advice to help make travel planning easier in hopes that more people will pack their bags and go.
