Recently Engaged? Well here are a couple of tips you should remember when you are in the beginning stages of planning your special day.

The first thing you should do is create a budget and figure out who is paying for what. This is important because it will dictate how much money you allocate to spend on each of your wedding vendors, for example food, photography, attire. Also, creating a budget will help you decide what things in your wedding are necessities and what things you can do without. For some brides-to-be, it will be important to have a couture dress and for other brides it may be important not to skimp on the lush and beautiful flowers. Decide what is important to YOU for your wedding day.

Next, take a close look at your guest list. Decide if you want to have a big soirée or if you want to have a more intimate wedding. The numbers will definitely add up, so have a talk with your future husband and figure out the amount of people that you want to share your wedding day with. Also, consider asking your parents if there is someone that they would like to include on the guest list as a courtesy. Remember that the guest list goes hand-in-hand with your budget.

Now that you’ve set a budget and figured out your guest list, you can move on to the fun stuff! Set a date and start researching where you would like to get married. Will it be in a church or on a beach? A lot of brides decide to get married at the reception hall, so again, decide what is most important for you on your wedding day. Next, decide if you want your reception to be at a hall, restaurant, or country club. You can email or call the venues to ask for quotes. From there you can decide if you would like to visit the venue in person. Remember to take your time when searching and do not be afraid to negotiate and ask for what you want. Most of all remember to have fun during your engagement and throughout the entire process. Happy planning!!!!

blackwomantrainI don’t know about you, but I have definitely been stuck without luggage in a few places. I remember one family vacation we went on where we ended up without luggage for nearly a week. It finally arrived the last day of our trip! There’s nothing worse than not having a toothbrush, deodorant, clean undies, or your special face-wash.  Well actually, not having it and having to buy it all over again is much worse. If you just can’t get it all in one bag and you do have to check-in your luggage, make sure your carry-on is carrying what you need. These days, if I’m checking my luggage, I pack 2 carry-ons.
